Projects Abroad Partnership with British Safety Council

Earlier this year we were approached by the British Safety Council to work together on a major programme to introduce Health and Safety Education to children in schools and care centres around the world.

Projects Abroad have been invited to send volunteers to Jerusalem!

The idea would be for volunteers to teach and look after children in Arab East Jerusalem. They would teach English in schools and take care of children in day centres in the Palestinian part of the city.

Volunteers Join the Great Ethiopian Run

The Great Ethiopian Run took place on Sun 23rd November. Our Director, Sami and Desk Officer Bikesegn were keen to take part, and ran the 10km along side our enthusiastic volunteers!

Projects Abroad is one of the sponsors of the new call for an International Court for the Environment. A campaign is being launched in London at 4 pm on Friday 28th November at a meeting to be held at the British Library. The initiative is being led – and the meeting chaired – by Stephen Hockman QC, former Chairman of the Bar Council.

Blanket Project Projects Abroad is supporting Natasha Osborne

"Last year, I produced and directed a play in aid of a hospice 'Bethesda' in South Africa.", says Natasha Osborne (in the picture). "The sum raised by the production funded the substitution of iron cots with padded, wooden ones for AIDS infants. I began the Blanket Project as a response to this success, and I began acquiring promises from top-end Hotels in Central London for blankets, bedding and towels for the hospice."

Inca Project Supervisor Daniel O'Shea updates us on the latest news from the Inca Projects

Inca Trail - As always the volunteers on the Inca project have kept up their hard work on keeping the Inca Trail in Sicre (not far from Huyro) clear of vegetation. The volunteers have been working with machetes and pruning sheers to carry out this work. The work aims to protect artefacts which may be present on and around the Inca Trail.
